Volkswagen Caddy ReviewVolkswagen Caddy Maxi The Volkswagen Caddy van has just got bigger, with the latest addition of the Caddy Maxi joining the prestigious VW family. The Caddy Maxi was originally launched at the European Road Transport Show in Amsterdam, and is due to go on sale this month in the UK. The new Caddy Maxi promises all things bigger with a larger load volume of 4.2m3, a longer load length of 2250mm and a greater payload of 800kg. It can even tow a braked trailer with a maximum weight of 1,500kg.
Offered with a choice of a single 1.9-litre petrol engine (102 PS), or two diesel engines - a 1.9 or 2.0-litre TDI producing 105 PS and a range topping 140 PS respectively. Each of the Pumpe Duese engines offer unit trajectory technology which ensures fuel economy. Additional extras to the Caddy Maxi include climatic control and a solid bulkhead with class leading safety features such as traction control and Engine Drag Torque Control, to produce a van that is practical, economical, comfortable and safe. The conventional Volkswagen Caddy will continue to be offered in addition to the new Maxi model as it is a favourite with UK based van buyers due to its versatility, a wide array of standard features and its load carrying capability. |
