Peugeot aftersales

With nearly 120 years of vehicle manufacturing experience, it's no surprise that Peugeot is one of the UK's leading van suppliers, with models including the Partner, Boxer and new Bipper.

In fact, Peugeot's Bipper van, on sale this week, has already scooped the prestigious Fleet World "Best Van of the Year Award", with judges commending the manufacturer on the Bipper's impressive key features, including the van's roomy interior and 610kg payload.

Commenting on Peugeot's triumph, April Harris, the company's light commercial vehicle product and pricing manager, said that customers would no doubt recognise the benefits of the Bipper being "economical, environmental, cost-effective [and] compact, while not compromising on load capacity and payload".

Furthermore, Peugeot recently received the "best engine award" in the 1.4 to 1.8-litre category at the 2008 International Engine of the Year Awards.

With aftersales, Peugeot says that the owners of its vehicles can expect "first-class service", safe in the knowledge that its highly skilled technicians and mechanics are "unbeatable" when it comes to maintenance.

"As well as constantly monitoring prices against local garages, our totally transparent quotes mean no nasty surprises with no work being undertaken without prior agreement.

"We guarantee to use only Peugeot original equipment parts - not whatever appears to fit," the company stated.

Peugeot vans are protected by warranty for two years after the day of delivery - and for an "unspecified mileage", covering the replacement of vehicle parts, labour and any costs associated with vehicle breakdown.

In addition to the standard contractual warranty, Peugeots are also covered by paintwork warranty, with commercial vehicles protected for up to six years.

Customers will also find themselves covered against corrosion damage by anti-perforation warranty which, again, applies to most vehicles for six years.

Should van owners be involved in a collision, Peugeot recommends that they send their vehicle to an approved dealership - and not to a standard garage.

"Using only original equipment parts fitted with the unrivalled expertise of specially trained Peugeot technicians, nobody is better placed to make your Peugeot as good as new. When you're arranging for your car to be picked up for repair, insist on it being taken to the nearest Peugeot Approved Accident Repair Centre," Peugeot said.

Van owners can use Peugeot's website to locate their nearest dealer or contact the manufacturer's customer service department with any questions. The website also provides information on Peugeot's Express Fit service - for those with vehicles over three years old.

Express Fit enables customers to turn up for repairs without an appointment and also offers extended opening hours.

For van drivers clocking up a lot of miles, Peugeot's tyre checking service is a must. Customers can take their vehicles to participating dealerships and have their tyres inspected for free.

Once a van's initial warranty has run out, Peugeot customers have the option of extending it for as long as they own the vehicle.

"It's available for any Peugeot up to five years of age with less than 80,000 miles on the milometer and there are no mileage limits after that.

"Just like the warranty you get free with a new Peugeot, its transferable - which means great value for any potential buyers should you decide to sell the vehicle before the extended warranty runs out. All you have to do is make sure you stick to the recommended service schedule and insist on genuine Peugeot parts," the car maker said.

Naturally, the older a vehicle is, the more likely it is to need repairs - and Peugeot's extended warranty option does not limit the number of times a customer can claim for a fault. According to Peugeot, it pays out an average of £232 for each repair made, so it is definitely an option which is worth considering, particularly for drivers with high mileage.

Under its extended warranty scheme, Peugeot will also pick up the bill if a customer's van fails its MOT and will carry out repairs - and replace any parts listed on a VT30 - up to the value of £750.

Peugeot's extended warranty also includes vehicle hire and hotel expenses - in the event of immobilisation - and now covers satellite navigation units, in-car entertainment systems and catalytic converters.

Peugeot really does have everything covered - and with tried and tested support structures in place, you may very well have the "drive of your life".
